The Festival of the Mayos will return next Sunday, April 30 to fill Murcia with songs dedicated to the Virgin, bringing together devotion, tradition, folklore and culture.

The Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture and the Federation of Peñas Huertanas have organized an event in which they will succeed the dances and songs in the square of Belluga, Glorieta de España, Plaza de Las Flores, Plaza San Bartolomé, Plaza Romea and Plaza Santo Domingo.

At 21.45 hours, in the Plaza de la Cruz, the Night of the Mayes will begin with the Song of the Mayos played by the Aurors of Rincon de Seca and at 22 hours the performances of 30 peñas huertanas will be roaming the different altars Which will be placed in honor of the Virgin in churches and other locations.

This event will be attended by the Mayor and Councilor Jesús Pacheco, the president of the Federation of Peñas Huertanas, Juan Pablo Hernández, the Queen of the Garden, Paula Gómez Sandoval, and his Court of Honor.

At the end of the Mayor Jose Ballesta will proclaim this party in the Plaza de San Antolín.

The poster of this year is made by the photographer Francisco Nortes and in it appears the altar that is installed in the Church of San Juan de Dios
