Murcia will host the National Critics Awards, which will be missed in the spring of 2018. This was agreed at the Assembly of the Association of Literary Critics, held in Soria.

The proposal for the designation was presented by the professors of the University of Murcia (UMU) José María Pozuelo and José Belmonte.

Professors Pozuelo and Belmonte will coordinate, in 2018, the jury meetings and the parallel cultural activities, for which they will count on the support of the city council of the Murcian capital.

The choice has been made taking into account the wide and great literary tradition of the city of Murcia.
