The Rector Sabater Building (Ronda de Levante) of the University of Murcia (UMU) hosts, between 21:00 hours on Tuesday 25 April and 06:00 hours on Wednesday, "Noche en Blanco", an initiative of the Delegation of Students of the Faculty of Law to discuss how cinema, television, literature and music present the world of politics, crime and justice.
Several rooms will be open throughout the night to discuss the best political television series on House of Cards, House of Cards, The Visitor, Black Mirror, etc. - and the black genre The Wire, Heavy Rain, Fargo, True Detective, etc. -.
The influence of the cinema will be shown through the analysis of classic productions of Hitchcock and Kubrik and recent classics like The Fight Club, Lost or the Star Wars saga.
The literature and its description of different political and criminological subjects will be studied with the novel Patria, by Fernando Aramburu, and with works by Vasili Grossman and Amèlie Nothomb.
Likewise, the use and impact of music in politics will be discussed: from the influence of opera on nationalism, through punk, independent music, hip hop or the use of music in electoral campaigns.
The Night in White is organized in collaboration with the faculty and Dean of the Faculty.
