The Ministry of Education and Universities invests this year 2017 a total of 6,162,785 euros in improvement works in schools and institutes in the municipality of Murcia.

These are 18 performances that are being performed at the moment.

The Director General of Educational Centers, Maria Dolores Valcárcel, accompanied by the Councilor for Education of the City Council, Rafa Gómez, visited this week the Center for Special Education Cristo de la Misericordia, where the work is being carried out to expand the installation of air conditioning , Which is allocated 32,877 euros.

Among the most outstanding works in the municipality are the complete remodeling of the Institutes Alfonso X 'El Sabio', with an investment of 1,500,000 euros, and Miguel de Cervantes, which is allocated 3,700,000 euros, both co-financed with funds European countries.

In addition, there are other relevant actions such as the uprising of the school Francisco Cobacho de Algezares, the works in the nursery of the school Juan de la Cierva de Casillas or the construction of the new school dining room in the school La Paz in El Palmar.

María Dolores Valcárcel said that "the regional government promotes actions to improve infrastructure throughout the year."

Strategy '+ Infrastructures'

The Ministry of Education and Universities works, through the '+ Infrastructure' Strategy, in the revision and reform of educational facilities to detect the main needs of the centers.

The regional government plans to invest some 20 million euros this year in order to "have more comfortable schools and institutes for teachers' education and student learning," said the director general.

In particular, new schools such as the Sacred Heart of Librilla and Prince Felipe de Jumilla will be built, and Pascual Pérez Abellán de Pliego will be expanded, among others.

In addition, we will proceed to the complete remodeling of the institutes Sanje de Alcantarilla and the two cited, Murcia, Alfonso X 'El Sabio' and Miguel de Cervantes.
