The Councilor for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, attended the 44th National Congress of Parks and Public Gardens to intervene in different forums in which will expose the project to revitalize the green spaces of the municipality.
Guillén explained that "Murcia will have a special role in this congress as it will be known at national level the different actions we are carrying out in our parks and gardens and the Government Team project to beautify the city and improve our more than 3,000 Parkland"
The councilman has highlighted vertical gardens up to 9 meters high and floral decoration installed during these Spring Parties in 13 locations of the town.
"We intend to establish this initiative and that our Spring Gardens resemble the crosses of Granada or the courtyards of Cordoba, making them a symbol of our city."
"Murcia is the capital of the orchard of Europe and is a benchmark for its fruits, its vegetables and its flowers. We have been the garden of Al Andalus referring to our palm groves, our gardens, ditches, waterways, and hydraulic heritage. We have to recover that tradition and, together with innovation, make our city more beautiful and continue to be a referent attracting more visitors and being a source of pride for Murcia, "said the councilman.
Guillén highlighted in this congress the innumerable initiatives put in place by the Government Team to revitalize the green spaces and turn them into areas of coexistence.
He has emphasized different actions such as the installation of canine recreational areas, which have quadrupled in less than two years;
The gerontogimnasia zones;
The sports or workout spaces and the new and original children's areas, such as those on Avenida Libertad.
It has also emphasized other initiatives implemented such as Gardens with art, workshops with family, Gardens of fairy tale, smallness and other activities in certain periods, turning green areas into nerve points for coexistence for families during the holidays.
The 44th National Congress of Parks and Public Gardens, under the name of 'The Art of Gardens, Gardens of Art', is organized by the Spanish Association of Parks and Public Gardens and is the main forum for exchange of experiences between different cities And autonomous communities on green spaces in Spain.
Murcia joined this not-for-profit association of public green spaces in Spain in April last year in order to put value parks and gardens in the urban environment.
