Murcia yesterday lived its big day, Bando de la Huerta, in a quiet, festive and joyful day, which returned to stand out for its massive participation, recording fewer incidents than in previous editions.
Around 600,000 people enjoyed the traditional Bando parade that toured the main streets of the town, surpassing the figures of previous years.
La Repanocha, held at the FICA fairgrounds, attracted more than 6,500 young people, making it a two-year leisure alternative.
The gardens of the Constitution and the Malecón and the environment of Alfonso X were other areas of great concentration of people (6,000, 4,000 and 2,500 people, respectively, in the moments of greatest assistance).
The 092 Local Police Room received 26 calls throughout the day.
According to the data handled by the Department of Traffic and Citizen Security, during the festive day the health services performed 240 attendances of which 93 were for alcohol intoxication, a figure lower than last year when they were 107, which represents a decrease of 15 %.
The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, highlighted the large number of foreign tourists who visited Murcia yesterday and congratulated the Federation of Peñas Huertanas and grateful to Murcia and visitors for their involvement and collaboration to develop this day with success.
Equally Pacheco has highlighted the work of the workers of the different services of the City of Murcia that have actively collaborated during this day, as well as health and safety services.
