The Park and Gardens Service, which is part of the Department of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, led by José Guillén, has restored the recreational area of La Rambla del Puerto in El Palmar, deteriorated by heavy rainfall at the beginning of March.
"We wanted the neighbors to be able to have a space that they use on a daily basis, so we have made a team of six people work hard to bring it back to its original state," explains the councilman José Guillén.
In particular the rains damaged several slopes, for which the ground has been compacted again and placed separations of wood that have been polished by members of the Service of Parks and Gardens and the concessionaire STV Gestión.
In this way, says Guillén, the high part of this space of frequent use has been terminated, leaving a wide space available to the residents of the Palmar.
In this place you can, for example, exercise your paths while enjoying nature.
To reduce possible damage caused by rainfall in the future, the City Council has re-examined and cleaned all scuppers in the area so they can quickly absorb water from a storm.
