The XXX edition of the International Competition of Tunas Costa Cálida will offer a dozen activities from April 17 to April 21.
To announce this edition has chosen a work of Luis Pérez Espinosa, born in the Barrio del Carmen and died last year.
The program will begin next Monday at the Teatro Romea, with the grand opening gala in which the Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco will read the proclamation.
In addition the investiture of the Grand Master of the Contest will be carried out to the Spanish Association Against Cancer of Murcia and will present as Madrina to Marta Garcia, presenter of 7RM.
Likewise, the Gold Badge of the Contest will be delivered to the City of Murcia and to El Corte Inglés for their collaboration during these thirty years.
On Wednesday and Thursday, at 9:30 p.m., the San Basilio pergola will host the performances of the eight tunas, both national and international, participating in this year's competition and which are Tuna de Derecho de la Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la Vega , Tuna of the University of Antofagasta (Chile), Tuna Female Javeriana of Bogotá (Colombia), Tuna of the District of Granada, Tuna of the UNED of Elche, Tuna of the Faculty of Medicine of La Laguna (Tenerife) Tuna of the Higher Polytechnic School of Jaén and Estudiantina Académica de Lamego (Portugal).
These actions will be added to those of four groups that will do it outside of competition: Tuna of the Association of disabled New Horizon, Tuna of the Faculty of Law of Murcia, Tuna of Economic and Business Sciences of Murcia and Tuna of Magisterium of Murcia.
In addition, on Thursday at 17.30 hours the Tuna of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Murcia will participate in the Parade of Flowers.
On Friday, after the official reception in the Hall of Plenaries to the participating tunas, will be held, at 19 hours, a round from the balcony of the City.
The program will end at 9.30 pm in the San Basilio pergola, with the awards ceremony and the performance of the winning Tuna, the Faculty of Medicine of Murcia and Los Parrandboleros as a guest group
The contest is organized by the International Cultural Association of Tunas Costa Cálida and the Tuna of the Faculty of Medicine of Murcia, sponsored by the City of Murcia, Estrella de Levante, El Corte Ingles, Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the Institute Of the Cultural Industries and of the Arts, ICA and in which collaborate Murcia.com, Travel Colors of the World and University School of Tourism.
