The Parks and Gardens Service, in the hands of the Councilor for Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, visited the Silk Garden to check first hand his status and study new performances.
Thus, the council will study the possibility of placing a shade in the playground with microperforated roof that let light pass but reduce the problems of the sun, as has been done, for example, in the children's games on Avenida de la Freedom.
Likewise a covered space will be created in the large central square of this green area to allow the different activities that frequently take place in a covered place where the incidence of the sun decreases.
These new facilities respond to the commitment of Mayor José Ballesta that last September announced a plan to install awnings in the children's areas of the municipality in order to provide shade in these spaces and mitigate the heat of summer.
The councilman and the municipal technicians have inspected the good state of the plantations carried out on both sides of the canal that borders some areas of the garden of the Silk of Murcia.
The original idea, which is being achieved, is to use species characteristic of the riverside forest.
During the visit to the park, Guillén recalled that although the quality and appearance of the water in the garden has been greatly improved, more actions are planned that will provide them with greater clarity and beauty.
In the visit to the green space, the mayor has checked the good condition of the games, such as the zip line that some time ago installed the Town Hall.
With this visit, Guillén continues its commitment to know and check the state of each and every one of the green spaces that the municipality of Murcia has.
