The Blue in Action NGO, born in the Local Police of Murcia, is going to carry out during this year different actions in the rural community of Taouz, located in the south of Morocco.
The organization has been working for a number of years in a project to support the women's collective because it is especially vulnerable because, although it is the basic pillar of the family, socially it is not recognized or valued.
Its components will depart next April 15 to this community to carry out different actions whose main objective is the support and enhancement of the collective of women.
Thus, literacy workshops will be set up by training key players who will later develop the didactic programs, create an industrial sewing workshop and a pottery workshop, providing the necessary technical means and providing the necessary occupational training.
In addition, a honey production and packaging plant will be put into operation, equipping it with all the necessary equipment as well as training for its management, improving traditional production systems.
The intervention program will also be maintained in the improvement of the visual health of the women's collective, through consultation and identification of refractive defects and their correction with lenses, and various activities aimed at training women in the acquisition of habits Healthy oral health, pregnancy, breastfeeding ...
Since Azul in Action they have been working for years in the promotion of associationism and collaborating in the literacy and occupational training of women's groups, equipping them with the means and knowledge to create microenterprises that contribute to the fragile family economies, social valorization and the strengthening of the business tissue.
The rural community of Taouz is settled on a vast desert territory and composed of numerous villages whose resources are very scarce, they live on the cattle ranch and the few agricultural products that they cultivate in the oases.
Its population is mostly of nomadic origin although a large part of the families have been settled and creating villages that have important shortages of drinking water, electricity, sanitation ...
The Blue NGO in Action was born within the Local Police of Murcia in 2000, with the objectives of intervening in international development cooperation and humanitarian aid.
In these years of work, he has carried out 52 projects of development cooperation in different areas of intervention such as health, education and construction of basic infrastructure, a project to support the disabled in the Region of Murcia, 15 information projects and Awareness raising, various interventions in emergency situations (earthquakes in El Salvador and India, Saharawi refugee camps, Lorca earthquake, etc.) and has collaborated with other NGOs in the implementation of three development cooperation projects.
