The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, delivered this morning the trophies of the teams participating in the III regional tournament of 'Network for Inclusion' held in February and March.
The event was attended by the Pozo Murcia Fútbol Sala Duda coach.
This sports event sponsored by the City of Murcia, is organized by the Federation of Mental Health of the Region (Feafes) and by the collective La Huertecica.
In the championship participate seven associations and NGOs like Proyecto Hombre, Jesús Abandonado, Murcia Acoge, Mental Health Federation of Murcia, Cepaim, Fundación Diagrama or the collective La Huertecica.
The tournament has been played at the sports center Jose Barnés de Murcia where matches were held every two weeks and in which have participated about 150 people who have played a total of five matches.
This tournament, which celebrated its third edition, was born with the aim of promoting and favoring processes of social integration and improvement of the quality of life among people who are in a situation of vulnerability or social exclusion, FEAFES Mental Health Region of Murcia and Collective La Huertecica, in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Health of the City of Murcia, have launched this project that has had the participation of more than 150 people.
The participants of this tournament are the users of the different entities belonging to different groups that are at risk of social exclusion.
Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, stated that "sport is a key tool to socialize, to empathize and serves as a great leisure alternative, in addition to all the health effects it produces.
This is a very important championship for all, since it is born of an initiative of non-profit collectives who understand the sport almost as a therapy. "
