The Department of Development, led by Roque Ortiz, will next Saturday illuminate the façade of the building next to the Blue City Hall on the occasion of the International Day of Autism Awareness.
This is the response to the request of the Association for the Care of people with Autism and other generalized disorders of the development of the Region of Murcia that promote an awareness campaign to raise awareness of this disorder to society and attract attention The needs of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families.
Every year, on April 2, dozens of buildings around the world light up in blue as a sign of solidarity with the group of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (TEA) and their families.
On 18 December 2007, the United Nations General Assembly established on 2 April as World Autism Awareness Day urging Member States, relevant organizations of the United Nations system and other international organizations, as well as the Civil society to duly observe this day and take steps to raise awareness through society about children with autism.
