Santa Eulalia: tradition and avant-garde
This neighborhood of great tradition, picturesque, dynamic and alive, has passed with the time of being a medieval suburb to become a substantial part of the old part of the city, with a heterogenous and plural cultural offer.
Its church is the main axis, although there are many corners, alleys and squares that collect the history of this neighborhood that currently has almost 3,000 inhabitants and an area of 80,000 square meters.
Old and young university students are the profiles that predominate in this neighborhood, with a great associative fabric, and in which are some of the oldest trades of Murcia and with more tradition, as well as the most modern and avant-garde of the city .
In addition Santa Eulalia is one of the enclaves that best symbolizes the 3 Cultures, since in it was the synagogue (Plaza Sardoy), one of the most singular churches of the city and the museum of the Arab wall.
A participatory and open model
'Murcia ADN-Urbano' is a model of integral intervention, participated and of great impact in the life of the neighborhood.
The first stage of action includes the preparation of a preliminary report, with an analysis of the history and characteristics of the neighborhood, the delimitation of the area of intervention and the objectives to be achieved.
This document will be submitted to a process of participation in which the neighbors and the various associations and groups will make their proposals for improvement.
The next step will be to establish the planning of the actions.
In this way, the necessary improvements will be developed during a week, in which the neighbors themselves will be able to be involved, directing the actions or collaborating actively with the municipal workers.
