Around 1,500 designers, nutritionists, sociologists and engineers, among other profiles, worked for 48 hours continuously, simultaneously in the venues of Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Alicante, Murcia, Cartagena, Ciudad Real, Seville, Las Palmas, Cáceres, Salamanca , Valladolid, Leon and Vigo and the virtual headquarters Cloud Hacker, to develop 150 technological applications that solve the 200 social challenges previously proposed, through the massive use of data.
The fifth edition of HackForGood at UCAM has ended with the first HackForGood Local prize (€ 1,000) for the developer team of "Cyberbullying", an application based on the use of artificial intelligence in the service of detection of cyber-bullying Is able to tackle one of the problems that young people are currently experiencing and to promote respect for the rights of children in cyberspace.
The second prize "HackForGood Local" (600 €) has been won by the "BauSpace" team, which proposes the design of a scorecard for catastrophe management and crisis situations, based on the analysis of bigdata and artificial intelligence.
Lastly, the third local HackForGood award (€ 400) has fallen on the "Sistema ICAI" project, an integral solution for an intelligent agronomy.
On September 20, the first of the winners will be in Madrid's HackForGood Big Day, where the winning teams of the 15 venues will meet and reward projects that have evolved better over the coming months.
Among the three winners will receive prizes of € 8,000, € 3,000 and € 1,000 and the Telefónica Open Future award, which will enable them to continue to develop and grow their projects.
This edition of Hackforgood has been attended by the Telefónica Chairs of the following Universities: Catholic University of Murcia, Polytechnic of Madrid, Complutense of Madrid, UNIR, Pontificia de Comillas, Rey Juan Carlos, Polytechnic of Catalonia, Pompeu Fabra, UOC, Polytechnic of Valencia, and those of Alicante, Polytechnic of Cartagena, Castilla-La Mancha, Seville, Las Palmas of Gran Canaria, Extremadura, Valladolid, Leon and Vigo.
In addition, this initiative also promotes the University School of Design-ESNE, the European University of Madrid, the University of Salamanca and the University Camilo José Cela.
