Councilor for Education, Rafael Gomez, has attended the XXVIII Mathematical Olympiad of the Region of Murcia that was held this morning in the Faculty of Education of the University of Murcia, in the Campus of Espinardo.
This day, in which the City of Murcia collaborates, is an annual contest around the resolution of mathematical problems that began in 1990 when it was held its first edition.
It consists of two phases, one regional and one regional.
In the regional phase of Murcia, this morning, attended by 436 students from the different municipalities attached to the headquarters of Murcia, from 38 secondary schools and 34 Primary.
In this edition the test of the regional phase will take place in Cartagena on May 13 in which will participate the final finalists of the second ESO.
The first three selected will represent the Region of Murcia in the National Mathematical Olympiad, organized by the Spanish Federation of Societies of Teachers of Mathematics and to be held in Valladolid at the end of June.
