The day, organized by the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation and called "Ideas, resources and experiences for the promotion of youth participation," was inaugurated by Rebeca Pérez.
Sixty-five associations are currently subsidized by the City Council to develop their activities, which are mostly educational, cultural and leisure activities and free time and involving about 39,000 young people.
More than 200 students, youth associations, service providers for youth and technicians working in this field, today attended the meeting aimed at promoting youth participation through counseling and training, organized by the Department of Youth and Cooperation development.
The day was inaugurated by Councilwoman Rebeca Pérez and the general director of Youth, Francisco Sánchez, with the title "Ideas, resources and experiences for the promotion of youth participation".
It was held this morning at La Esapcio Joven La Nave with the aim of facilitating a meeting space between associations operating in the field of youth, as well as disseminating and resolving issues that could arise regarding subsidies directed to Associations and entities for the organization of activities.
It has been organized as an "open space to know new suggestions, proposals, possibilities for improvement and learning about youth participation," said Pérez, who stressed the importance of "listening to suggestions, awakening the critical sense and urging the changes they deem appropriate Improve among all programs and activities aimed at young people ".
The day was intended for all associations and groups of young people, and especially the 65 entities that have received financial aid from the City of Murcia in the call for grants for 2016/2017 activities, whose total amount amounted to 60,000 euros.
With this municipal contribution the associations are developing training and non-formal education activities, such as courses and workshops (32%);
Cultural events such as competitions, theater, exhibitions, projections or conferences (24%) and leisure and free time, including camping, travel, exchanges, etc.
(13%).
Grants are also used, to a lesser extent, for publishing publications, concerts, assemblies, sports activities and volunteering.
