The City of Murcia, through the Department of Development and Urbanism, Huerta and Environment, adheres to 'The hour of the planet', WWF initiative launched in 2007, and that seeks to turn off the light for one hour As a symbolic sign of the fight against climate change.
This year, the initiative, celebrating its tenth anniversary, has as its motto 'The Planet First, let no one stop you'.

Murcia joins the largest global initiative in the defense of the environment and aims to re-mobilize more than 7,000 cities worldwide to demonstrate global support for action against climate change by turning off the lights of its main buildings and monuments.
