The University of Murcia (UMU), the Miguel de Cervantes Virtual Library Foundation and the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation today signed the agreement for which the Prize is awarded at the Rectorate of the educational institution, which has a budget of 12,000 euros.
The director general of the Virtual Library Foundation, Manuel Bravo, highlighted during the ceremony that we are facing one of the "good prizes of novel novel", which is always characterized by the "quality of winning works".
Bravo has expressed the desire that the XXII edition reaches the success of 2016, year in which 235 originals were presented from 25 countries.
On behalf of the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation, its vice president, Clemente García, said that this award is nourished by two personalities: the rector of the UMU, which "represents the University of Murcia with all its values" and the Peruvian Nobel .
About the Prize, has highlighted that has been maintained for 22 years, with a "power of call that goes more in each edition."
For his part, the rector of the UMU, José Orihuela, has welcomed the new call and has shown the willingness of the University to collaborate in everything necessary to boost the award.
The President of the Prize Jury and Professor of the UMU Faculty of Arts, Francisco Florit, thanked the three institutions for their support.
