The Governing Board has approved the award of two lighting improvement projects: in the neighborhood of Infante and in the village of Corvera.
What is intended with both actions is to provide the street with new lighting that improves visibility, save electricity and contaminate less.
Thus, in the neighborhood Infante don Juan Manuel will install new LED technology lighting with which a reduction of installed power between 60% and 70% is obtained.
At Avenida Infante don Juan Manuel 27 light points will be renewed, both the column, as well as the luminaire and the basements, maintaining the channeling and existing electrical lines.
These luminaires will have a light output of more than 11,000 lumens with an energy consumption around 100 W.
In the main avenues, San Juan de la Cruz, Pío Baroja, Vicente Aleixandre and Santa Joaquina de Vedruna, will be installed 82 new luminaires with a yield of more than 14,000 lumens and an approximate power of 120 W.
In the rest of the vials (Gabriel Miró, Monte Carmelo Avenue, Luis Fernandez, Miguel Hernandez, Antonio González Conte, Alberto Sevilla, Lope de Vega, Jorge Manrique, Rubén Darío, Miguel Fernández, Ramón del Valle Inclán, Poet Andres Bolarín, Mozart, Lope de Rueda, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Luis de Góngora and Carmen Conde) will install the same luminary of the Avenida Infante don Juan Manuel, of 11,000 lumens and 100 W, in a total of 169 units
Likewise, 8 control centers will be renovated to provide them with remote management, so that, from the control point in the Abenarabi Services Building, it is possible to monitor the operating hours, the light intensity and the incidences produced in the installation of Street lighting.
The current total power is 107 kW while after the renovation will be 34 kW while the current annual consumption is 382,000 kwh which will be reduced to 80,000 kwh after this performance.
The expected savings, therefore, amounts to 79.11%.
This work will reduce CO2 emissions by 150 tonnes.
The Department of Development will invest in these works 166,427 euros and the execution period is 6 months.
On the other hand, work has also been approved to improve lighting in Calle Mayor, Finca Villar, La Murta Road, Luis Fontes Pagan Square and Juan Carlos I Avenue in Corvera.
The proposal consists of the implementation of luminaires with LED technology on metallic poles and on arms with aerial installation.
In addition, there will be a remodeling of two existing command centers to provide them with a remote management system.
In total 53 units with a power of 2,300 W will be installed when the current one is of 4,600 W.
Annual energy consumption will fall from 16,600 kWh to 5,400 kWh, representing a saving of 67% and a reduction of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere at 5.5 tonnes per year.
The budget is 39,795 euros and the term is 4 months.
