The University of Murcia (UMU) will host from July 2 to 29 to 120 students of 4 th of ESO and 1 of Baccalaureate of the whole national territory in the eighth edition of the Summer Scientific Campus.
The application deadline for the UMU Campus, which last year was the second most demanded in the country, will run until March 24, Friday, at 2:00 p.m.
In this edition, the public universities of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the Campus of International Excellence Mare Nostrum, offer the projects "The mystery of the light of the stars", "The sustainable transport of the future from the energy of the Sun" , "Water in Civil Engineering Applied to Urban Development" and "The Scientific Resolution of Crimes: The Importance of Forensic Sciences".
In four seven-day shifts, participating students will have the opportunity to enjoy a comprehensive program that includes film forums, museum visits and meetings with scientists, broadcasters and politicians, as well as other leisure and sports activities, such as excursions to La Manga, tours of the La Union mines or night catamaran sailing.
The Summer Scientific Campus is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport;
The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
In addition, the event is sponsored by the 'La Caixa' Obra Social and is being developed simultaneously in sixteen International Campus of Excellence.
