The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, attended this Sunday the 'Show Cooking' and gastronomic children's workshops of the Second Week of the Garden in the Plaza de Santo Domingo.
The 'Show Cooking' has started at 11.30 pm and its purpose is to bring the kitchen with products from our garden closer to the citizens.
For this reason, an exhibition of four Murcia chefs who shared dishes recipes with traditional products from the area.
The cooks who participated in this activity were: Juan Antonio Pellicer, Julio Velandrino and María Dolores Baró.
After this, it was presented the cookbook of the cook Juan Antonio Pellicer La Huerta in the spoon.
In addition at 11.00 a children's kitchen workshop has been held to teach young children how to cook Murcian products, explaining the benefits of garden products and raising awareness about the importance of healthy eating.
Mireia Ruiz Manresa was in charge of directing this children's gastronomy workshop.
The Mayor explained that "Orchard Week is a clear enhancement of our most rooted traditions. The orchard of Murcia is part of our origins and we are proud of them, as it is part of our identity."
