The procession

The Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Refuge was created in 1942 and paraded for the first time on Holy Thursday the following year, at midnight (currently the exit is at 10:00 p.m.).

The Nazarenes, in silence, then made a journey almost twice as long as the present.

In 1945 the present throne was released, made by the Valencian goldsmith Vicente Segura Valls, which was completed in 1963 as it is known today and is decorated with red carnations.

It was the same craftsman who performed the cross of guide, which first paraded in 1951, opening the procession, and also was the author of another sign of identity of the Procession of Silence, the 14 lanterns with the stations of the Via Crucis Painted in oil on glass, paraded in the ranks of Nazarenes.

Coinciding precisely with the 75th anniversary of the foundation, Murcia painters have decorated new stations that will premiere this Easter.

From 1979 they were incorporated to the route of official way corals that accompany with sacred music the passage of the procession.

The last changes on the parade as they are known today are, in the year 1995, the incorporation of the bell that marks the movements of the throne and, two years later, the premiere of the current banner embroidered by 'the Egyptian' on the Painting that in 1943 realized the painter Angel Tomás.
