The Government Board has approved this morning the award of work to renew conservation and protection measures for the archaeological remains of the garden of San Esteban.
In this way, the three projects that will allow the renovation and enhancement of the reservoir and its surroundings have already been definitively awarded.
The renovation of the conservation measures of the archaeological site has a scheduled execution period of four months, so the works will finish next summer.
The intervention includes the superficial consolidation of archaeological structures of the site, the revision and reinforcement of the fences in the vertical consolidation of archaeological structures and the replacement of the geotextile mesh, as a means of direct protection against meteorological agents, as well as avoidance The development of vegetation.
Likewise, a review and reinforcement of gravel coverage will be undertaken in the areas where the geotextile is restored and structures are repaired, as well as the filling of hollows with gravel in areas that are considered the best solution for the vertical containment of structures .
On the other hand, the works will also take into account the revision of the fence of the deposit and the review of the system of drainage of the deposit.
During all the intervention will be made with a documentary record of the state of the deposit and of the interventions that are carried out, together with the writing of a report with detailed description and the corresponding graphic documentation.
The Council will invest in these works, which will be made by Azuche 88, a total of 54,700 euros.
