The Local Police closed the Floridablanca Garden this morning around 10.15 am to ensure the safety of citizens and avoid problems that could cause wind in this space, where there are large trees.
So far, Local Police has intervened in a dozen notices related to the air gaps, without any of them causing any personal or material damages, in this case, of relevance.
During the morning, there were 4 trees and a few branches.
The most significant has been a ficus located in the green zone located between the Palace of Justice and the Hotel Siete Coronas, that has come off of root, causing damage to the fence located in the enclosure.
A small banana has also fallen on the Malecón, a palm tree in a private space and another one in Los Dolores.
The services of Parks and Gardens maintain a checkpoint of eight people, through the company in charge of maintenance, STV.
The team is ready to correct any problems related to the trees that can arise in streets, squares and gardens.
Firefighters and Local Police have also intervened for the risk of falling façades or roof tiles - this last one in the church of San José de la Vega - and to notify to the services of road cleaning and waste collection to reposition containers moved by wind.
The municipal forces continue to work to ensure the safety of citizens and control possible problems as a result of heavy gusts of air.
