The integration of migrants and refugees through actions promoted by higher education institutions is the objective of an international project coordinated by the University of Murcia (UMU) and presented today at its Faculty of Economics and Business.
The actions envisaged during the three years of the program are aimed at promoting a better understanding of the causes, consequences and current status of forced displacement in Europe, as well as to prevent racist and xenophobic outbreaks among young people and adolescents.
The action, framed in the program Erasmus + Action 2 Strategic Associations, is coordinated in the University of Murcia through the Department of Sociology and the Area of ​​International Relations.
Participating in the project, in addition to the UMU, are the universities of Salerno (Italy), Lund (Sweden) and the University Institute of Lisbon ISCTE-IUL (Portugal).
The launching ceremony, which was attended by representatives of these partner institutions, was chaired by the Vice-rector for Coordination and Internationalization, Bernardo Cascales, and the Vice Chancellor of Students, Carmen Ferrándiz.
