The Young Futures Neighbors Association, through the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Murcia, will request the City of Murcia to amend the ordinance regulating the management of the public transport service by buses of municipal lines of municipal ownership.
Ordinance that was approved in September of 2012 and published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia of the 13 of October of the same year.
To this end, it will be necessary to urgently convene a meeting of the Transportation Bureau where this entity is represented.
The municipal ordinance discriminates against parents with children who are twins or twins since Article 12.6 contains the prohibition of traveling on municipal bus lines with double carts: "No access to buses with cars, chairs or Double trolleys, whether tandem type or in parallel. "
This situation became apparent when a member of the future Young Neighbors Association attempted to use public transport a few days ago with a twin cart, denying the driver the service, relying on said ordinance and depriving him of the right to public transport.
