Antonio Navarro Corchón, Councilor for Town Planning, Environment and Huerta, met this morning with the president of the Board of Farmers, Diegos Frutos, and members of the institution to review various projects launched in order to recover and Preserve the Huerta de Murcia.
In this way, they have analyzed the environmental recovery of the Azacaya Paraje, one of the emblematic areas of the irrigation network, in which it is going to be cleaned and conditioned for citizen use, and the Azarbe, enabling a tour through it and showing the operation of the irrigation system.
They have also reviewed the other projects that affect the channels managed by the Junta de Hacendados, such as the adaptation of the surroundings of the Polvora Mill, in Acequia Aljufía, the Acequia Churra la Vieja, in Llano de Brujas, and the adequacy of the Senda Verde on the Acequia Alquibla, between Algezares and La Alberca.
These projects are drafted in collaboration with the Junta de Hacendados, and are part of one of the main strategic axes of the policy of the City of Murcia, which is the development of the Plan to recover and preserve the Huerta, which constitutes a unique and unique heritage Which distinguishes Murcia.
