The Municipal Board has planted 30 moreras, facilitated by the Department of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, in the public school Isabel Bellvís.
With this, Miguel Ángel Noguera, Mayor of the People's Party, made the children of this activity participate, who have been able to help with the planting of trees.
This action has been organized to commemorate the day of Nonviolence and Peace that is celebrated worldwide this Saturday 28 January.
All this was done on the same day that 31 years ago the first mulberry trees were planted in this school in Corvera.
This activity has been carried out jointly with the Association Morus Alba, the first environmental association of Corvera that is born of a citizen initiative and is an expert in the planting and care of mulberry trees.
Noguera, along with the association, explained to the children of this school the history of these trees.
Trees that are native to Murcia and had a leading role in the economy of Murcia, thanks to the importance of the mulberry in the silk factories.
The objective of this day has been to raise awareness of children in the day of nonviolence and peace, as well as beautify the school and, in the future, provide shade to the center garden.
Noguera stated that "this activity is a fun way for children to become aware not only of the importance of caring for the environment, but also of avoiding violence in the classroom."
