Sergio Ramos, councilor of Cambiemos Murcia, has asked the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS) and the City Council's Government Team to investigate and determine the origin and possible impact on the environment of the foam that covers the Segura River today.
According to the mayor, "it should be assessed whether it is a consequence of a pollutant discharge and whether it is a toxic substance, since some companies take advantage of rainy periods to pour their waste into the river."
It would not be the first time that a sanctioning file is opened for this cause, because of its possible repercussions on human health, flora and fauna in the river environment.
