19 people were treated last night by the device launched by the City Council, with the collaboration of NGOs, on the occasion of the cold wave, who were provided lodging, hot drinks, food, sleeping bags or blankets.
Specifically, 7 Moroccans, 1 Senegalese, 2 Bulgarians, 2 Romanians, 2 French, 3 Spanish, one Argentine and one Italian.
Of these people, 4 spent the night in the Sports Pavilion Cagigal.
The special social care device for people in emergency situations, activated in the wake of the cold wave, keeps the City Emergency, Mobile and Social Protection Emergency Service (SEMAS) staff on alert, who work in a Coordinated with Jesus Abandoned-Solidarity for Development, RAIS Foundation, who provide concerted emergency accommodation, as well as the Association of Rescue and Emergencies of Murcia (ASEMUR).
Tonight the same device is maintained, including the opening of the sports facility, enabled with cushions and pillows, and will remain active until temperatures recover.
From that moment on SEMAS will continue its work, in charge of attending homeless people who are in extreme situations, trying to promote their social integration.
