The Councilor for Trade, Organization and Institutional Relations, Maruja Pelegrín, and the Councilor for Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, Rafael Gómez, visit Mercamurcia's facilities accompanied by 32 students from the Secondary School of the San Buenaventura Teaching Center -Capuchinos.
The activity, framed in the program 'Murcia Educator City', aims to know the different ways of supplying wholesalers to the food shops of Murcia and encourage the creation of healthy habits in the consumers of the future.
The visit, which lasted an hour and a half, has been carried out in the facilities of the Mercamurcia Food Unit, making a tour of the different pavilions, flower market, fruit market, vegetables, and fish market.
In this way, the students have been able to know the origin of the products exposed, the minimum quantities of sale, payment methods, and peculiarities of the merchandise sold (packaging, weight, etc).
Mercamurcia is a municipal company in charge of the management of the Wholesale Markets of Supply of the Municipality of Murcia.
It was founded on the initiative of the City of Murcia and the company MERCASA, belonging to the Patrimony of the State.
