The Parks and Gardens Service, which is part of the Department of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, continues its pruning work on the numerous palm trees in the municipality.
From this night until next Wednesday 11, these works will be carried out in more than fifty copies located on the Juan Carlos I and Juan de Borbón avenues.
Since the palms are in a section that shares space with the tram and so that it does not generate any problem to the Murcia and its daily activity all the tasks will be done once the service of the tram, namely from 1 to 6 Of the dawn of days 9, 10 and 11 of January.
A service that, as explained by the Councilor for Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, will be done "with the catenary without electricity, that is to say out of service, since the first thing is to comply with all security measures a The time to work ".
Specifically, the work will be done by a dozen professionals during the days 9, 10 and 11 of January.
These are three pruners and seven recuperators (collection auxiliaries) who will return the beauty and natural way to the palm trees.
This equipment will eliminate both green and dry branches that load and make lose the characteristic shape of the palm trees as well as the date bags to prevent them from falling into the street and dirty or cause slippage.
Guillén recalls that "in addition to this task, the operators control that there is no palm affected by the red weevil, as well as that these specimens are in good condition and are safe for the pedestrians."
