Christmas in Murcia has left a balance of high participation and activity in the streets and public spaces of Murcia.
Specifically, "more than 100,000 people have gone through the Christmas Tree of the Circular during these more than 30 days that has been open to all," said Mayor Jose Ballesta.
In addition, about 35,000 children have participated in workshops and activities organized around the big tree, which has already ceased activity and will begin to disassemble this next Monday.
The Cavalcade of Kings was one of the most crowded and participative in recent years, with more than 50,000 attendees, and in which some 1,800 people participated actively.
In this sense, the mayor stressed that this year's program has managed to "make us feel closer and participate in our parties and so we all do our part to improve the city together."
With regard to tourism, Murcia closed December with a hotel occupancy of more than 51%, overcoming a historical barrier in the municipality and reaching a 6.6% more occupancy than the same month last year.
The streets, squares, public spaces and a total of ten gardens of Murcia have been filled with life with activities of all ages: music, workshops, dance ..., free and open events that have had as protagonists the main groups Artistic, festive and associative groups of the municipality.
Participation that has exceeded expectations
This year's innovations have had an excellent reception by the Murcia, especially the light show in the Segura, which "even surpassed our expectations by the large number of people who gathered in front of the Molinos del Rio," said Jose Crossbow.
