The highest percentage - 13.7% - occurred among those under 25 years old.
3,227 people who had no job in Murcia when they started 2016 have ended the year with employment, representing a decrease of 8.6% and accounting for 28% of the total recorded in the region.
Murcia thus adds four exercises followed by a decrease in unemployment, specifically since 2012.
In absolute figures, the municipality presents data similar to those that existed at the beginning of the crisis, when in 2009 there were 33,781 unemployed Murcia, compared to 34,008 people who are today in that situation.
Also noteworthy is the decline of 13.7% in the under-25 age group.
At present, 3,021 young people who live in the municipality have no work.
By sex, 1,987 men (11.8%) and 1,240 women (6%) found employment during the past year.
These indicators "can not be satisfactory to us, since as long as there are unemployed Murcia we will not stop working, but we are encouraged to continue with the policies to support entrepreneurs, training and fiscal restraint are bearing fruit," said Jesus Pacheco, Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture.
Pacheco also wanted to recognize "those who take the decision to hire someone or decide to establish themselves as entrepreneurs or self-employed, since it is they who really make it possible to continue to reduce unemployment, while from administrations we will continue to provide maximum collaboration and help" .
