The councilman of Urbanism, Huerta and Environment, Antonio Navarro Corchón, explained that Murcia does not exceed established levels of air pollution.
"According to the measuring station of San Basilio, whose results can be consulted at http://sinqlair.carm.es/calidadaire/, we can be calm because in the urban area we have a good air quality," explained Navarro.
The councilman added that "if the Ombudsman asks us for the actions we are taking to fight against air pollution, something that we have not yet formally received, we will send a report with all of them which are also already included in the Strategic Plan Against climate change. "
Navarro said that among these measures stand out "the implementation of renewable energy in public transport and the municipal fleet, the promotion of electric vehicles, the commitment to sustainable mobility, the Muybici rental system and the various actions to improve Cycling infrastructures, pedestrianization of streets ... "
"We must remember that Murcia has been awarded at European level for its work in environmental matters with different prizes and mentions such as WWF for our fight against climate change," concluded the mayor
