The Municipal Board of Tocinos Bridge has inaugurated its monumental crib this afternoon, paying tribute to the natives of this town, who in their day donated the pieces that make it up.
Five of the artisans whose workshops continue in production have attended the event that has been softened by the Choir and Rondalla de la Peña de la Crilla.
The monumental nativity of Puente Tocinos is one of its main signs of identity, since it concentrates the largest number and the most prestigious craft workshops dedicated to the creation of nativity figures.
That is why the hamlet has been deservedly called "Cuna del Belén".
These workshops were born in families, in which art and knowledge has transcended from generation to generation to the present.
This is the case of Belenes Ramirez, Griñan / Coll, Belenes Galán, José Griñán and Belenes Murcia with Jesús Griñán at the helm.
Each of these artisans has incorporated new techniques and images into this baroque tradition, through new molds, sizes, moving figures, modern polychromy, and the introduction of fabrics.
With all this they have been able to enrich this artistic creation until turning it into a world reference and it has allowed that it is very quoted in the national and international market.
In the course of the nativity scene for the various mysteries of Christmas, has been recreated the extraordinary talent of these master craftsmen who with great generosity donated to the people of his village unique pieces, which today represents a source of pride and strengthening of The coexistence for the inhabitants of Puente Tocinos.
