Fundación Entreculturas Fe y Alegría has received a grant of more than 30,000 euros to develop the reconstruction project of the 'Fe y Alegría' educational center in Ecuador, affected by the earthquake that struck last April.
This is one of the 32 projects that the Governing Board has approved today to be carried out in countries with low development rate in Africa, Central and South America and Asia, with a grant of more than 300,000 euros.
The objective of this call, promoted by the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation, is to subsidize works that are aimed at improving the quality of life, as a priority of those countries included in the 2013-2016 Master Plan of Spanish Cooperation.
The countries defined in the aforementioned Master Plan are: 12 in Latin America and the Caribbean (Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and the Dominican Republic);
4 in North Africa and the Middle East: Mauritania, Morocco, Saharawi Population and Palestinian Territories;
3 in Western Sub-Saharan Africa: Mali, Niger and Senegal;
3 in Central, Eastern and Southern Africa: Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea and Mozambique;
1 in Asia: Philippines.
In the areas in which the projects are primarily concerned, they are: education, health, production, food security, women's empowerment, governance and infrastructures, environment and promotion of gender equity, human rights and respect for environment.
