On Monday 19 December, at 6 pm, in the Hemicycle of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Murcia, there will be a workshop-debate around Saussure and Chomsky.

The activity is part of the programming of DeLetreArtes.

It will be moderated by Ramón Almela Pérez, and in it will intervene: Débora Tudela Martínez, Yolanda Ruano Laparra, Antonio Miguel Alcázar Hernández, Fructuoso Attention Requena, Mª del Rosario Illán Castillo, Celia López Peñaranda, José Miguel Baños Saldaña, Mario Palazón Pérez 4th Degree Course in Spanish Language and Literature).

The activity aims to commemorate the hundred years of General Linguistics that are now being fulfilled, on the occasion of the publication of the "Cours de linguistique générale" by Ferdinand de Saussure (1916), foundational text of modern and contemporary linguistics.

The Workshop-Debate focuses on the confrontation of the linguistic theory of Saussure with that of Chomsky and the controversy of the validity of one front to another.
