Pedro Antonio Sánchez, president of the Autonomous Community of the Region, and José Orihuela, rector of the University of Murcia (UMU) inaugurate tomorrow the "I Conference: Challenges for a Transparent Society".

The seminars, organized by the UMU and the Transparency Council of the Region of Murcia on the occasion of the International Day against Corruption, are intended to reflect on the importance of transparency in the economic, social and political spheres.

After the opening ceremony, which will take place at the UMU Auditorium at 9:00 am, several round tables will be held with the participation of the President of the Council of Europe Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), Marin Mrcela;

The president of the State Transparency and Good Governance Council, Esther Arizmendi, and senior executives from the Bank of Spain and the Court of Auditors, among other experts.

The round tables will be broadcast live on the web http://tv.um.es

The meeting will give voice to all students, researchers and people in general who want to contribute their vision on these issues through poster-format communications, which will be exposed during the conference and, later, on the websites of the UMU and Council Of Transparency.

The program also includes workshops to discuss transparency in the media, in the economic and business sphere, in universities and in the management and access to public information.

The School of Training and Innovation in Public Administration of the Autonomous Community also collaborates in the organization.
