Students of the Food and Culture course of the third year of the degree in Food Science and Technology of the University of Murcia (UMU) have visited the Eco-Campus orchards, located in the Espinardo campus.
The purpose of the visit was to know the origin of the initiative to start up these orchards, their operation and their results from an anthropological perspective.
The organization of the Sustainable Campus of the UMU offers the possibility to take advantage of the infrastructures and university services for this type of practices.
The students had the opportunity to interview some of the people in charge of these gardens, to know their experiences and the motivation that led them to participate in the experience.
On the other hand, students of the school "Pedro Pérez Abadía", of the Murcian hamlet of Espinardo, have visited the main points of environmental interest of that campus.
The participants had the opportunity to explore the most attractive points and to know the main activities that the UMU, through the Vice-Rectorate of Economy, Sustainability and Health Sciences, promotes around the environment.
