A solidarity calendar to support people with hearing impairment (12/12/2016)

The City Council works with about fifty associations, federations and foundations in the field of disability, to provide Murcia with an ambitious and applicable Universal Municipal Accessibility Plan

On Christmas occasion, the Association of Parents of Children with Problems of Hearing and Language (Aspanpal) has presented its solidarity calendar with the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, the IMAS director, Miguel Ángel Miralles, and the president of Aspanpal, Javier Cecilia.

This year, members of the Mercury sardine group have presented their image for this almanac, in which they are accompanied by children with hearing disabilities and their families.

ASPANPAL is a private non-profit organization federated at the national level to FIAPAS (Spanish Confederation of Families of Deaf People) and to FASEN (Federation of Parents Associations of Hearing Sensitive Deaf) at regional level, whose primary objective is to pay attention and Helps the hearing impaired in their educational, family, work and social context.

Conchita Ruiz has highlighted the importance of "supporting and promoting the integration of this group to minimize the problems that this disability may cause".

ASPANPAL currently provides early care to 52 children with hearing impairment under the age of 6, and 35 children and youths over 6 years of age, as well as providing care and support services to families of deaf people, having today 340 associates In Murcia.
