The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group, Maite Espinosa, reminded the Ballesta government Sunday that "has not yet implemented the book reuse system proposed by the PSOE in March this year and unanimously approved by the municipal plenary."
Espinosa, who defended this initiative in the aforementioned plenary, explained that "the objective is to recover the books deposited in the paper containers and give them a second life, making them reach the various associations of the municipality, NGOs, libraries, Youth centers, study rooms, schools or, even, giving them to families with few resources.
"As is customary in the government of Ballesta, months pass and motions are not met. Meanwhile, hundreds of books that could be reused in the municipality disappear in waste treatment plants," said Espinosa, who Has added that "the reuse of books is done successfully in other cities whose municipalities have been able to understand the importance of betting on a culture of reuse."
The councilor of the PSOE has insisted that "nine months after the approval of this initiative, the local government has not fulfilled the commitment made in plenary, which also included the launch of a campaign for individuals, associations And companies will not throw used books, but will deposit them in libraries and study rooms for reuse. "
Espinosa has called on the government of the PP "to deliberately delay the implementation of motions, especially if they are initiatives that are so simple to comply that only depend on a little political will."
