The homeless, who sleep in the street, will be assisted by the Mobile Emergency Social Service (SEMAS) team of the Council of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz Caballero.
To this end, the City Council has activated the winter campaign for this group in anticipation of low temperatures, reinforcing the exits in those spaces Murcia where usually house the homeless.
Thus, the technicians of the SEMAS distribute among the passers-by, sleeping bags, blankets and self-heating beverages, as well as warm clothing.
6 people have already been taken care of in the streets of the city center, Ronda Sur and San Pio X, 3 of them Algerian, 2 Lithuanians and 1 Spanish.
Likewise, explained Cabizero, the professionals of the SEMAS "offer a transfer to spend the night in the centers that the council has arranged accommodation places such as Jesus Abandoned and RAIS Foundation."
The device works in coordination with the local police, whose staff that cover the night shift, have blankets to deliver them in case of need and thus extreme attention to the people of this vulnerable group.
The agents will subsequently report these actions to the SEMAS.
Finally, Ruiz Caballero added that SEMAS intends with this initiative to "initiate or continue accompaniment processes that allow, as far as possible, to overcome those situations of social exclusion."
