The neighbors of the village of Monteagudo have been able to know the campaign of the Land Bank of the Department of Urbanism, Environment and Huerta, directed by Antonio Navarro Corchón, set in motion to avoid abandonment of farmland.
This information action, which began last week, will last until November 25.
During this time a team of the Department visits with the mobile information point the weekly markets of different districts of the municipality closest to the areas of orchard and its surroundings.
In particular, the markets of Casillas, Alquerías, Esparragal, Rincón de Seca, Cobatillas, Zarandona, Patiño, Beniaján, Llano de Brujas, Cabezo de Torres, Churra, Albatalía, Santo Ángel, Nonduermas, Monteagudo, Sangonera la Seca, Torreagüera, The Raal, Javalí Nuevo, La Ñora, Tocinos Bridge, Los Garres, San Jose de la Vega, Los Ramos, Puebla de Soto, Guadalupe, Santiago and Zaraiche, Los Dolores, Aljucer and San Ginés.
The Bank of Lands of the Huerta de Murcia is a management system that is part of the Plan of Action of the Orchard of Murcia and whose purpose is to avoid abandoning cultivated land, recovering its productive capacity and favoring the socioeconomic development of The Huerta de Murcia through a socially and environmentally sustainable model.
With this system will be contacted owners of cropland in disuse and people interested in leasing them for cultivation.
The Land Bank is managed by the City of Murcia, which offers a service of advice and mediation to the participants and keeps a record of the agreements reached.
