In order to promote the full integration of socially disadvantaged children in the municipality, in a situation of vulnerability or social exclusion, the Governing Board has approved an amount of 126,342 euros to carry out complementary actions to guarantee their basic needs during the first quarter of the year. 2016-2017 school year.
The aid is intended not only for schooling but also for the food and transportation of minors, so that welfare and equality of conditions with the rest of the children is guaranteed, as set out in the Municipal Childhood Program And Adolescence.
The municipal centers of Social Services make the proposals of those minors who need this support, based on the knowledge of the families and the socio-educational intervention carried out with them.
The school canteen aids for the first quarter of 2016-2017, complementary to those granted by the Ministry of Education, benefit 548 minors, enrolled in 87 schools in the municipality.
