The Professor of Physiology, professor emeritus of the University of Murcia, Salvador Zamora, has received the HDL Cholesterol 2016 award, awarded by the Cholesterol Guild of Avilés (Asturias) for his scientific career in the field of cardiovascular disease prevention.
With that reason a monolith with its name has been placed in the Park of the Ría de Avilés.
Next to Zamora was awarded the Spanish National Team of hockey on skates.
Also distinguished in other categories were the University Hospital San Agustín and San Fernando College, among others.
The Brotherhood of Cholesterol, was created in 1996 by a group of avilesinos to promote good eating habits and dissemination of dietary diets for the prevention of cholesterol and cardiovascular diseases.
Its headquarters are in the Asturian town of Avilés.
