Guillen censors that citizens stand against the workers of the City Hall (14/11/2016)

The councilman of the Popular Party remembers that "from the first moment that we began the negotiations, C's has been positioned against and has only shown interest in blocking it"

"The only objective that moves Citizens in the City is to try to boycott and obstruct the work of the Government Team, and for that counts as an alliance with We," said José Guillén, Councilor for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, With respect to the request of reports by its Spokesman that they paralyze and delay the application of the collective agreement of the workers of the City council.

"From the first moment we started the negotiations, the C's group has been against it and has been more interested in blocking it than in working to find a consensus," said the councilman of the PP, who believes that Mario Gómez's reaction today is "a tantrum for having failed in his attempt".

The trade unions representing the majority of the workers have backed an agreement that "is good for them and for Murcia" and that, objectively, it is "the best agreement in Spain today," says Guillén.

In his opinion, C's intends, once again, "to confuse the Murcia, without worrying to harm the staff of the City Hall by diluting the entry into force of an agreement that entails important improvements in working conditions."

"None of that is in the interests of citizens," says Guillen, "since signing the pacts with Podemos in municipal councils have become allies whose sole objective is to try to hinder the work of the Popular Party Government in the City."

On the other hand, the councilman of the Popular Party remembers that the public employment offer of the City Council of 2016 will be destined in its entirety to the extension of the staff of Local Police, as agreed last week the negotiating table.

Just as the 2015 job offer focused on increasing the Fire Service staff, allowing the process to be implemented to incorporate 31 people, in 2016 it will be the Local Police Corps - which currently has About 600 people - which will add the 21 places that can call the City, meeting the limits imposed by state legislation in terms of new staffing.

In this way, "the commitment of the Corporation with the security and protection of the municipality is confirmed, because the permanent effort to improve the technical and material resources of police and firefighters also adds priority in increasing their staff," says Guillén.
