Conferences, debates, thematic exhibitions, cinema, theater, workshops, medieval markets or contests are some of the activities that will take place in the municipality of Mula between November and May.
Nearly forty activities with which it is intended to celebrate the 1st edition of the Festival of History, an initiative that emerged at the University of Bologna eleven years ago and has since become a classic, focus of tourist attraction in the country Italian, and has been imported to other European cities.
The initiative was presented this morning at the Convalescence in an event that was chaired by Pedro Miralles Martínez, Vice-Rector of Training and Innovation and attended by Antonio Juan García Fernández, Vice-Rector of Research;
Francisco Javier Llamazares González, Deputy Mayor of the City of Mula;
Josefina Zapata Crespo, Director of the Permanent Headquarters of Mula;
Raquel Sánchez Ibáñez, Co-director of the Festival of History, and Jerónimo Rueda, Coordinator of the Festival of History.
The activity tries to spread the culture and the heritage, under the motto "The lúdico through the time".
In the Region of Murcia will be centralized in the Municipality of Mula, through a large series of activities, organized by the Vice-Rectorate of Training and Innovation of the University of Murcia and the Permanent Headquarters of the UMU of Mula, as well as the town hall of the location;
Foundation of the Center for Historical Studies and Local Research of the Region of Murcia and Friends Association Cigarralejo Museum, and is sponsored by the Integra Foundation, the Seneca Foundation and the Agency of Science and Technology of the Region of Murcia.
The activity is led by the professors of the University of Murcia María Martínez Martínez and Raquel Sánchez Ibáñez, and coordinated by Jerónimo Rueda.
A pioneering event
Vice-Rector Pedro Miralles "stressed that this is a pioneering event in the Region of Murcia," while Raquel Sánchez emphasized that this is a classic event in Bologna and has been exported to other parts of Europe.

Finally, Jerónimo Rueda, coordinator of the initiative, read the Foundational Manifesto of the Festival of Murcian History, assuring that they share with the colleagues of the University of Bologna "the conviction that the knowledge of history can serve to live better the Present and to project with more wisdom the future ".
