The University of Murcia (UMU) participates this weekend in the Science and Technology Week 2016 with a hundred scientific activities, almost a third of the total number of performances scheduled at the event.
From tomorrow until Sunday, UMU researchers will share knowledge and fun scientific experiences in the Garden of the Malecón, where the University of Murcia has installed 17 booths in a space designed especially for the little ones.
Among many other things, attendees will be able to know how 3D animation works, what benefits fertilization has in the laboratory, how it is heard backwards, how the alcohol in the wine is determined or how the fingerprints are obtained or The colorful shots.
In addition, it will be possible to learn how to make a homemade microscope, to save water when watering, to identify a species by bar code, to extract DNA, to create our own cell, to germinate plants in vitro and to cook only with the help of the sun .
Also, there will be workshops related to the prevention and improvement of health;
How much fat mass is in our body, how strong we are, how we can take care of our backs, what a kit should include, how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases, drug dependence, alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse, how to prevent Heart attacks and the importance of washing hands.
In relation to vision, we will also know if we use contact lenses well, if we protect the eyes from the sun, as well as our eye strain and if we have low vision.
The Science and Technology Week, promoted by the Seneca Foundation of the Region of Murcia, is organized in the UMU by the Unit for Scientific Culture and Promotion of Research (UCC-Prinum).
