"We are not talking only about ordinances, we are talking about thousands of neighbors and residents of the municipality of Murcia who will notice an economic relief in the payment of their taxes, which will see eliminated copayments in the service of teleassistance or help at home , Who will be able to take their children free to the municipal swimming pools every day in summer if they are in unemployment situation ... We are talking about improving a bit the life of the citizens of our municipality, which is the main objective of the Work of the Socialist Group ".
This has been indicated by the socialist spokesman, Jose Ignacio Gras, after the approval of the Fiscal Ordinances in the special plenary session on Wednesday.
The Socialist Municipal Group has abstained since, according to the spokesman himself, "significant reductions have been achieved in rates that directly affect the pocket of the Murcia and Murcia, but there are things to achieve and this will continue working the PSOE In the City of Murcia ".
In this sense, Gras has insisted that "what has been achieved in these Fiscal Ordinances, the social changes that we have introduced, are part of the PSOE electoral program, part of our historical demands, our reason for being. And to protect the most disadvantaged, in that we have thought when elaborating our proposals ".
The spokesman of the Municipal Socialist Group has stated that the modifications introduced by his party are substantial improvements, "as in the case of the 4,600 people who will stop paying for telecare services, help at home or family respite, the 5,500 neighbors and Neighbor in economic difficulties who will not have to face the rate of garbage, the 20,000 children whose parents are unemployed who can access for free municipal swimming pools or the 3,000 families who, thanks to the insistence of the Socialist Party , Will receive aid to meet their IBI receipts.
"Our objective is to favor people with more difficulties, because municipal policy must be close and useful, also from the opposition. We can not be mere spectators, we must work to get improvements for Murcia and for Murcia and Murcia," added Gras, who has insisted that "improving people's lives is the core of socialist politics. We have achieved a lot today, but there are changes to introduce, proposals to achieve and still have to go, hence our abstention."
The socialist spokesman has lamented that the review of ford fees in the municipality has not been finally included, but has achieved the public commitment of the councilor of finance to address this necessary and urgent revision to which the PSOE is not going to resign.
"The foreclosure rate generates important inequalities between the center of Murcia and the districts, and we must end this unjust situation. As we have stated in Plenary today, we give three months to the Councilor of Finance to review and resolve, not only the Rate but also the regulatory ordinance that includes the collection of a bail for an unreasonable and improper ford ".
Finally, Gras has criticized that insisted on the need to regulate a procedure of presentation and debate of proposals to the Fiscal Ordinances.
"If there is no procedure established today it is because there has been no interest in doing things right. We hope that, from now on, it will facilitate dialogue and input from other groups in a timely manner."
